Video Generation

Veo 3.1 variants, quality tiers, aspect ratios, first→last frame, and clip extension.

How Video Works in Draftly

Every 3D Builder site includes a motion video generated by Veo 3.1 (Google). This video: - Defines the scrolling background animation of your site - Is generated from your hero image (or from a direct description) - Gets sliced into ~200 WebP frames loaded progressively as visitors scroll - Creates the "living site" effect where scrolling feels like watching a film

The video is stored in your project. Download the raw MP4 from the Video tab in the builder.

Veo 3.1 Variants

Standard (default) - Veo 3.1 Fast — landscape or portrait - Up to 8 seconds, 720p→1080p by plan - Generated in 45–90 seconds - Cost: 32 credits/sec

Relaxed - Same quality as Standard, slower queue - 2–5× longer wait time but ~40% cheaper - Good if speed is not critical

HD (Premium+) - Higher bitrate 1080p output - 85 credits/sec (vs. 32 for Standard) - For premium launches where video fidelity matters

First→Last Frame (FL Mode) - Uses your hero still as the opening frame and a second image as the closing frame - Ensures the video begins and ends on specific compositions - Same cost as Standard, available on Basic+

2K / 4K (Premium+) - 2K: 64 cr/sec | 4K: 128 cr/sec - For cinematic quality launches or high-DPI displays

Aspect Ratios

Match the video aspect ratio to your site layout:

RatioUse CaseNative Dimensions (HD)
16:9 LandscapeDesktop-first, wide heroes1920×1080
9:16 PortraitMobile-first, vertical layouts1080×1920
1:1 SquareMinimal or centered layouts1080×1080

The aspect ratio toggle is in the builder toolbar (top-right of the preview). Set it before generating — it affects both the hero image and the video.

Video Clip Extension (Pro+)

Video Extension adds 4 more seconds to the end of a finished clip using LTX 2.3 Fast via fal.ai.

To extend a clip: 1. Open the Video tab in the builder 2. Click Extend Clip 3. Optionally describe what the continuation should show 4. Click Generate

The extended clip replaces the original and triggers automatic frame re-extraction.

Cost: ~60 credits for 4 seconds. Requires fal.ai integration — contact support if you don't see this option.

For most sites, 1080p Standard is the best balance of quality and cost.

Frame Extraction

After video generation, frames are extracted automatically:

1.Video is decoded in your browser
2.~200 WebP frames extracted at 25 FPS (default; adjustable 10–40 in Video controls)
3.Frames compressed for fast loading
4.Scroll engine maps scroll position to frame index

Frame extraction is free — no credits consumed.

The process takes 30–90 seconds depending on video length and device speed. If extraction fails (rare — usually a codec issue), the site falls back to a smooth static-image parallax effect.

View all extracted frames in the Frames tab.

Multi-Video Chains & High FPS — Site Size Warning

Stitching 3 or more video clips and/or setting extract FPS above 25 dramatically increases scroll frame count and published ZIP size.

Draftly shows an amber warning in Video pipeline controls and in chat when you: - Add a third (or fourth) clip to the chain - Raise extract FPS above 25

Impact: preview decode can take 1–3 minutes; published sites may be 50–150+ MB and load slowly on mobile.

Recommendations: - Use 1–2 clips when possible - Keep extract FPS at 25 or below for most sites - Switch homepage to Video mode (looping clip) instead of full scroll scrub for lighter payloads - Download ZIP and test on a slow connection before launch
