Writing Great Prompts

How to write prompts that produce specific, high-quality, non-generic websites.

Anatomy of a Great Prompt

The AI extracts 6 key elements from your prompt. Including all 6 dramatically improves quality:

1.What the business/project is — "a coal-fired pizza restaurant"
2.Specific details — "established 1987, family-owned, Brooklyn, NY"
3.Sections needed — "menu, our story, reservations, reviews"
4.Style/mood — "warm, rustic, dark background, cinematic"
5.Brand voice — "authentic, heritage, old-world craft"
6.CTA — "Reserve a Table"

The more specific your prompt, the less generic the output. "Pizza restaurant" produces generic copy. "Coal-fired Neapolitan pizza, 3rd-generation family, Brooklyn since 1987" produces something real.

Prompt Examples by Industry

Restaurant: "Coal-fired Neapolitan pizza restaurant in Brooklyn, open since 1987. Family-owned, third generation. Signature dishes: Margherita, coal-fired wings, tiramisu. Warm, dark cinematic feel. Sections: hero, menu, our story, reservations, reviews. CTA: Reserve a Table."

SaaS Product: "AI analytics SaaS for e-commerce teams. Core feature: real-time revenue attribution across 20+ channels. Target: DTC brands $1M–$10M/yr. Dark theme, blue accents, data-dense. Sections: hero with product screenshot, 3 core features, pricing (Free/Growth/Scale), testimonials, FAQ. CTA: Start Free Trial."

Creative Portfolio: "Personal portfolio for a UI/UX designer, 8 years experience, fintech and healthcare focus. Clients include Stripe and Oscar Health. Minimal white background, full-bleed case studies, generous whitespace. Sections: intro, case studies, about, contact. CTA: View My Work."

Local Service Business: "Premium residential cleaning service, Seattle area. 5-star rated, 200+ repeat clients, eco-friendly products, background-checked staff. Sections: hero, services (deep clean, recurring, move-in/out), our guarantee, reviews, pricing, book now. Bright white/green palette."

What to Avoid

These patterns produce generic output:

Too short: "A bakery website" — no brand identity, no specific copy possible
Generic adjectives only: "modern, professional, clean" — describes every site ever made
No sections specified: The AI guesses and may omit your most important content
No CTA specified: AI generates a default button; yours matters for conversions
No specificity: "a consulting firm" vs "a supply chain consulting firm for mid-market CPG companies"

Rule: If your prompt could describe 100 different businesses, it's not specific enough.

AI Prompt Enhancer

The ✨ Enhance button (sparkle icon in the chat input) runs your prompt through an AI that: - Expands vague descriptions into specific ones - Adds industry-appropriate sections - Suggests color and typography preferences - Infers differentiators from context clues in your description - Adds missing CTA language

Cost: 1 credit. The enhanced version is shown for review before committing — accept, edit, or discard it.

Using the enhancer typically improves generation quality by 40–60% for short or vague prompts.

Iterating With Chat After Generation

Every chat message after generation is a surgical patch request (0.5 credits). The AI modifies only what you ask — the rest stays intact.

Effective requests: - "Change the hero background to a deeper navy blue" - "Replace 'Get Started' with 'Book a Free Call' everywhere on the page" - "Make the Features section use a 3-column grid instead of a list" - "Add a Pricing section after Features with 3 tiers: Starter $49, Pro $99, Enterprise custom" - "Increase the hero headline font size significantly"

When it falls back to full regen: If the change is too structural (complete layout overhaul), the system may trigger full regeneration (~400 cr). You'll see a clear warning before this happens.

Brainstorm Feature

Not sure what to build? Click the lightbulb icon (Brainstorm) in the builder chat input.

Enter a topic, industry, or keyword. The AI returns 5–8 site concepts with suggested names, headlines, and descriptions. Click any idea to load it as your prompt — then enhance and generate.

Cost: 1 credit.
