Subdomain setup, going live, updating a published site, custom domains, and SEO.
How Publishing Works
Publishing uploads your HTML to Firebase Storage and serves it via Cloudflare CDN from your subdomain at *.draftly.space.
The process: 1. Click Publish Live in the builder action bar 2. Choose or confirm your subdomain 3. HTML is uploaded; Cloudflare cache is purged globally 4. Your site is live in ~5 seconds
Publishing is free — no credits consumed. Re-publish as many times as you like after edits.
Choosing Your Subdomain
Your subdomain is the identifier before .draftly.space — e.g., your-brand.draftly.space.
Rules: - 3–40 characters - Lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens only - Cannot start or end with a hyphen - Must be globally unique (checked live as you type)
Reserved words (unavailable): www, api, admin, app, mail, blog, help, support, status, staging, dev, draftly, dashboard, login, signup, auth, pricing, about, contact, careers, legal, privacy, terms, assets, cdn, static, media, images, files, uploads
Tips: Use your brand name (romano-pizza). Add location for local businesses (romano-pizza-brooklyn). Keep it short and shareable.
Updating a Live Site
Edit your site in the builder at any time, then click Publish Live again.
The live URL updates in ~5 seconds — same subdomain, no downtime, visitors who reload see the new version immediately.
Managing Multiple Published Sites
Each project publishes to its own subdomain. Published site limits by plan:

To free up a slot without deleting a project, unpublish from the project's settings.
Custom Domain (Pro+)
Connect your own domain (yourbrand.com) to a Draftly site on Pro or higher plans.
Setup:
1. Go to Project Settings → Custom Domain
2. Enter your domain
3. Add a CNAME record in your DNS provider pointing to draftly-edge.draftly.space
4. SSL is provisioned automatically via Let's Encrypt (~2 minutes)
DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours depending on your registrar.
SEO & Meta Tags
Every generated site includes automatically injected SEO:
