How to Add a Contact Form and Capture Leads in Draftly
A website without a contact form is a missed opportunity on every page. Draftly includes a built-in lead capture system that stores enquiries in your dashboard and sends real-time email notifications whenever a visitor submits a form.
Adding a Contact Section
In the Draftly builder, open the Sections panel on the left sidebar and scroll to the Contact category. You will find several pre-built contact section styles:
- Minimal — a clean form on a dark or light background
- Split — form on the left, contact details or map on the right
- Full-width hero — large contact section with a background image or video
Customising Form Fields
Click on the contact section to open its settings. Under Form Fields you can:
- Add or remove fields (Name, Email, Phone, Message are included by default)
- Mark fields as required or optional
- Change field labels and placeholder text
- Add a dropdown selector (useful for enquiry types: Sales / Support / Partnership)
Setting Up Email Notifications
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Notifications and enter the email address where lead notifications should be sent. You can add multiple addresses — useful if sales and support are handled by different team members.
Draftly sends a formatted notification email immediately when a form is submitted. The email includes all form fields, the page the visitor submitted from, and the timestamp.
Viewing Leads in the Dashboard
All form submissions are stored in Dashboard → Leads. From here you can:
- View all submissions sorted newest-first
- Mark leads as read or unread
- Export leads as a CSV file for import into your CRM
- Filter by date range
Adding a WhatsApp Button Alongside the Form
Many Indian users prefer WhatsApp over email. Read How to Add a WhatsApp Button to Your Site to add a floating WhatsApp button that works alongside your contact form.
Best Practices for Higher Conversion
Position the form above the fold on mobile. Most users on mobile devices will not scroll to the bottom of a page. Place a contact button or inline form high up on the page.
Use a clear CTA above the form. Instead of just the form fields, add a heading that answers the question "why should I submit this?". For example: "Get a free quote in 24 hours" or "Book a 30-minute consultation."
Set a confirmation message. After submission, Draftly displays a customisable thank-you message. Use this to set expectations: "We received your message and will reply within one business day."
Connect Google Analytics. Track form submissions as conversion events in GA4 to measure how many visitors are converting. Read How to Set Up Google Analytics on Your Draftly Site for the setup steps.
A well-configured contact form turns a passive website into an active lead generation channel. Set it up correctly once and it works continuously in the background.
