A/B Testing Your Draftly Site: Improve Conversions With Data
Opinions about what converts better are worthless. Data from real visitors is everything.
What Can You Test
- Headline wording ('Get a Free Quote' vs. 'Start Your Free Consultation')
- CTA button text, colour, and placement
- Hero image (person vs. product vs. abstract)
- Section order (testimonials above or below pricing?)
- Form length (3 fields vs. 6 fields)
- Social proof placement and type
How to Run A/B Tests on Draftly
Draftly doesn't have a built-in split testing feature, but you can run tests using:
Method 1: Duplicate Projects
- Duplicate your site project
- Make the variant change on the duplicate
- Publish both at different URLs
- Use Google Optimize (free) or a URL redirect tool to split traffic 50/50
Method 2: Google Optimize Script
Install Google Optimize via Custom Code. It handles the split testing and reporting.
Test Duration
Run each test for at minimum 2 weeks and until you have 100+ conversions per variant. Stopping tests early is the #1 cause of invalid conclusions.
Statistical Significance
Don't declare a winner until results are at 95% statistical significance. Use a free significance calculator (abtestguide.com).
One Change at a Time
Test one variable per experiment. If you change the headline AND the CTA colour in the same test, you can't know which drove the result.
Iterating
The best converter becomes the new control. Then test the next change. Compounding 10% improvements over 6 months is transformative.
