Version History in Draftly: Never Lose Your Work Again
Building a website involves a lot of iteration. Version history lets you experiment freely.
How Version History Works
Draftly auto-saves your work continuously. Manual versions let you name and lock a specific state of your site.
Creating a Named Version
- Click the version icon in the top toolbar
- Click 'Save version'
- Name it descriptively: 'Before homepage redesign' or 'Client-approved v2'
- Click Save
Rolling Back
- Open version history panel
- Hover over any version to preview it
- Click 'Restore' to roll back
- A new version is automatically created of your current state before rollback
When to Save a Version
- Before major structural changes
- Before a client review session
- After client approval (lock the approved state)
- Before experimenting with a different visual direction
Version History Limits
Version history depth depends on your plan. Pro and above get full history. Free plan retains the last 5 auto-saves.
Pro Tip
Duplicate your project before major redesigns rather than relying only on version history. A duplicate gives you a clean sandbox.
