1. Introduction

This Cancellation & Refund Policy (“Policy”) explains how you may cancel a paid subscription to Draftly, request a refund, or receive service credits when you are dissatisfied with the Service. It applies to purchases made through Draftly at https://www.draftly.space and is designed to comply with applicable Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and the Information Technology Act, 2000, together with rules framed thereunder, as well as any non-waivable consumer rights in your jurisdiction.

This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where this Policy conflicts with mandatory law, mandatory law prevails.

2. Definitions

  • Service — the Draftly website builder, AI generation tools, hosting, and related features we provide.
  • Subscription — a recurring paid plan (monthly or annual) that renews until cancelled.
  • Credits — usage units allocated to your account for AI generations, exports, or other metered features under your plan.
  • Service credits — non-cash credits added to your account for future use on the Service, issued at our discretion when a monetary refund is not available or not the best remedy.

3. How to cancel your subscription

You may cancel your Subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not automatically delete your account or published sites unless stated otherwise at checkout.

Self-service cancellation

  1. Sign in to your Draftly account.
  2. Go to Settings → Billing.
  3. Select Cancel Subscription and confirm.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Until that date you retain access to paid features included in your plan. After the period ends, your account reverts to the Free plan (or equivalent) subject to plan limits described on our pricing pages.

Assisted cancellation

If you cannot access your account, email support@draftly.business from your registered email address, or open a ticket via our Help Center. We will verify ownership and process your request within a reasonable time.

Cancelling a Subscription does not by itself entitle you to a refund for the current billing period except as set out in Section 4 below.

4. Refund policy

Draftly offers a 7-day money-back guarantee on new paid Subscriptions, subject to the conditions below. This is in addition to any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other applicable law.

Eligibility for a monetary refund

You may request a full refund of your initial payment only if both of the following are true at the time we receive your request:

  • the request is submitted within 7 calendar days of the initial payment date for that Subscription; and
  • you have consumed less than 30% of the Credits allocated to your plan for that billing period.

This 7-day window is a “no questions asked” refund right — we will not require justification during this period provided the 30% consumption threshold has not been crossed.

When a monetary refund is not available

Once either condition below is met — more than 7 days have elapsed since payment, or 30% or more of allocated Credits have been consumed, whichever occurs first — the initial payment becomes non-refundable as a matter of right:

  • More than 7 days have passed since the initial payment (except where required by law, or as a discretionary exception under Section 4A below).
  • You have used 30% or more of allocated Credits for the billing period — no partial monetary refund will be issued for credit consumption above this threshold.
  • Credits already consumed are non-refundable under any circumstances. Credits are consumed progressively as AI generation, hosting, and export features draw on third-party compute we are billed for in real time; consumption above the 30% threshold reflects cost already irrevocably incurred by us on your behalf and cannot be reversed.
  • Renewal charges after the first billing period, unless otherwise required by law or expressly stated at purchase.

How to request a refund

Email support@draftly.business or use the Help Center with:

  • your account email;
  • date of payment and plan name;
  • a brief reason for the request; and
  • confirmation that you meet the eligibility criteria above.

Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days. Payment-processor or bank fees that are non-refundable by the processor may be deducted from the refund amount where permitted by law.

4A. Discretionary refunds after the eligibility window

Requests received after the window in Section 4 has closed are not refund entitlements and are evaluated solely at Draftly’s discretion, on a case-by-case basis, only where the customer demonstrates one or more of the following:

  • a verified platform defect or outage attributable solely to Draftly that materially prevented use of the Service, evidenced by our own system logs;
  • an unauthorized or duplicate charge not attributable to the customer’s own account activity; or
  • a billing error (wrong plan, wrong amount, double charge) confirmed against our payment records.

Dissatisfaction with output quality, a change of mind, non-use of a purchased plan, or disputes unrelated to the grounds above do not qualify for a discretionary refund after the window closes, and will instead be considered for service credits under Section 5.

Any discretionary refund granted under this section is final, without precedent, and does not obligate Draftly to grant a refund in any other case, including future requests from the same customer.

4A.1 Support-trail requirement

A discretionary refund request under this section will only be considered if the customer first raised the underlying issue through Draftly’s official support channel (a Help Center ticket or support@draftly.business) before requesting a refund, and can show a documented support-ticket trail evidencing that:

  • the issue was reported with reasonable detail;
  • the customer engaged with the support team’s troubleshooting steps; and
  • the issue remained unresolved despite that engagement.

Requests unsupported by a prior support ticket — including refund demands raised for the first time via chargeback, social media, public review, or a payment processor’s dispute channel — are not eligible for a discretionary refund under this section, and will be treated as unwarranted disputes under Section 7.4. This support-ticket trail is also the primary evidence Draftly will submit to the payment processor under Section 7.3 to contest such disputes.

5. Service credits for dissatisfied customers

If you are unsatisfied with the Service but are not eligible for a monetary refund (for example, because more than 30% of Credits were used, or the 7-day window has passed), we may still help you succeed on the platform.

At our discretion, and where appropriate under Indian consumer-protection principles of fair trade practice, we may offer one or more of the following remedies instead of, or in addition to, a cash refund:

  • Service credits added to your account for future AI generations, exports, or plan upgrades — valid for the period we specify at issuance;
  • Dedicated support — our team will work with you via the Help Center to resolve technical issues, improve your site, or guide you through the builder; and
  • Plan adjustment — a one-time plan change or credit top-up where we determine that platform limitations affected your experience.

Service credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money except where required by law. To request consideration for service credits, contact us through the Help Center or email support@draftly.business with details of your concern. We aim to respond within 2 business days.

6. Free trials, promotions & annual plans

Promotional pricing, trials, or coupon codes may have separate terms shown at checkout. Unless stated otherwise, refunds on annual plans follow the same 7-day / 30% credit-usage rules applied to the initial payment. Cancelling an annual plan prevents renewal but does not retroactively refund unused months after the refund eligibility window, except where required by law.

6A. Credit packs, bandwidth packs & other one-time add-ons

Credit packs, bandwidth packs, extra-site add-ons, and any other one-time or metered top-up purchase are completely non-refundable once purchased, regardless of how much of the pack has been consumed, in whole or in part, and regardless of the 7-day window described in Section 4 above (which applies only to the initial payment on a recurring Subscription).

This is because a pack purchase provisions the full quantity of Credits or bandwidth to your account, and third-party AI and infrastructure costs corresponding to that provisioned capacity are incurred by us at the time of purchase, irrespective of your subsequent usage pattern. Unused Credits or bandwidth within a pack do not expire unless stated otherwise at checkout, but do not entitle you to a refund of the purchase price.

The discretionary remedies in Section 4A (verified platform defect, unauthorized/duplicate charge, or billing error) remain available for pack purchases on the same terms, including the support-trail requirement in Section 4A.1.

7. Chargebacks & payment disputes

7.1 Mandatory first contact

Before initiating a chargeback, dispute, or “unrecognized transaction” claim with your card issuer, bank, or payment processor, you agree to first contact Draftly at support@draftly.business and allow us a reasonable opportunity (not less than 5 business days) to investigate and resolve the matter directly.

7.2 Acknowledgment at purchase

By completing checkout, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to this Cancellation & Refund Policy, that Credits are consumed and billed to us by third-party providers in real time as you use the Service, and that a chargeback filed in contradiction of the eligibility rules in Section 4 constitutes a breach of this agreement.

7.3 Evidence we will submit

Where a chargeback or dispute is filed, Draftly may submit to the payment processor and card networks any relevant records to contest an unwarranted claim, including but not limited to:

  • IP address and login history at the time of purchase and use;
  • Credit-consumption logs for the billing period in question;
  • support-ticket and email correspondence;
  • this Policy and the Terms of Service accepted at checkout; and
  • records of any refund or service credit already offered or issued.

7.4 Account action pending dispute

We may suspend or restrict account access for the duration of an open chargeback or dispute investigation. A chargeback filed for a transaction that was, at the time of filing, outside the eligibility window in Section 4, or for Credits already consumed, is treated as an unwarranted dispute.

7.5 Recovery of costs

Where a chargeback is later reversed in Draftly’s favor, or is found by the processor or card network to have been filed without cause, we reserve the right to recover any chargeback fees imposed on us, and to permanently suspend the account, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

7.6 No forum-shopping

Filing a chargeback or payment dispute does not waive, and is not a substitute for, the request/resolution process in Section 4. A customer who has already been denied a refund under Section 4 or granted service credits under Section 5, and who then files a chargeback for the same transaction, will have that history submitted as evidence under Section 7.3.

8. Your rights under Indian law

Nothing in this Policy limits rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including rights relating to unfair trade practices, deficient services, or misleading advertisements, to the extent applicable to digital services purchased from Draftly. If you believe your consumer rights have been violated, you may contact us first for resolution, and you may also approach the appropriate consumer forum or e-commerce grievance mechanism as provided under Indian law.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy by posting a revised version and updating the “Last updated” date. Material changes affecting paid customers will be communicated with reasonable notice where required. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
